Video Card for Compaq Presario SR1010NX

I searched through the Google Groups for a more appropriate group in
which to post this message, but this is perhaps the closest group
that
I could find that could probably help:

I have a Compaq Presario machine, model number SR1010NX, and I need a
video card. I went to "Tiger Direct," thinking that any video card
should work; when I got the card, I was faced with the problem that
it
did not fit. Can anyone tell me what kind of video card is required
for this computer -- one that will fit in one of the lower slots? The
reason I need a card is that the video output (the normal output
slot)
has been damaged beyond repair; the outside covering has been removed
or "jarred off," and therefore, left only with pins, there is no
means
of using this port. Therefore, I am left with the possibility of
using
one of the lower slots. When I received the card from Tiger Direct (I
chose the cheapest there available, as it stated that this card would
work with "most computers"), I saw that the configuration was exactly
backwards; the slot that is between the set of pins is in the reverse
order, and therefore this card does not fit.

If anyone knows how I can ascertain which card will fit one of the
lower slots, please either leave a message on this group, or, better
yet, you can feel free to e-mail me at mea...@cox.net.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Video Card for Compaq Presario SR1010NX

Hi,

According to:

your system has only PCI slots available. Do not confuse these with PCIe,
which is a newer standard.

Tiger Direct still has several models available:
