Programs stop working

I have a Windows Vista 32 (Ultimate) machine, and when starting it up this
morning, all of my shortcuts (lnk) and all of my .EXE's have stopped working.
The files exsist, but when I click on them directly, an error message that
files are not found comes up. I try to use rstrui.exe and I get the same
message. Can anyone enlighten me?
