If the machine was not good from the minute it was taken out of the box and powered up, I would have called Dell to tell them they are going to receive a piece of junk for which I would like in its place a working computer.. -- Mike Hall - MVP How to construct a good post.. My sons Compaq that came with XP home had all kinds of problems. When it refused to run a game he had purchased I wiped the drive including any restore partitions and got a boxed version of XP home. After installing he had no more problems. Same with my wifes Compaq Notebook would bluescreen when running MS money and Outlook. We have many Dell Notebooks and Desktops at my work and they have many more issues than our IBM desktop systems which are under a volume licence with XP pro. I home build all my own systems and have had no BSOD's with Vista Home Premium x64 all my hardware works fine. Running Vista since Feb 07. Just looking in this NG there are a lot of posts that start with "My Dell......." or "My HP......." Just my opinion on this...... |

And with the latest publication of internal Microsoft emails, something that Microsoft has promoted and been complacent with. It's this Microsoft-OEM "special partner" relationship that has lowered the bar when it comes to quality computer products and quality operating systems in a symbiotic relationship of "profits comes first". | Re: Can you say Millennium Edition? I've noticed number of the "my Dell" and "my HP" also. If the OEM has a flaky image that they are installing, then several users are going to have problems. -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Darkelldar" <atcompsys@shaw.ca> wrote in message news:eak8Q4KgIHA.484@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > > > I have had to deal with many OEM computers. > > My sons Compaq that came with XP home had all kinds of problems.
