Is Windows Defender Needed ???

I have Vista ultimate. The ie7 seems to stop pop ups etc. I am selective
about my few downloads and dont want to bloat my system. I could use some
expert advice. Does defender have to run at all timews? or scan at my
perference only? thanks again guys...I like Vista more every day.

Re: Is Windows Defender Needed ???

Windows Defender alerts you when spyware or potentially unwanted software attempts
to install itself or to run on your computer. It also alerts you when programs attempt to
change important Windows settings. Leave it turned on for best protection.

RE: Is Windows Defender Needed ???

Windows defender is a load of garbage, that misses more than it finds!

For best results use the latest version of Spybot Search & Destroy 1.5.2.
It runs rings around defender!!
Disable defender, as it slows your system down too!
