Force grouping taskbar buttons together

Hi,

I have taskbar grouping of similar programs switced on, so that if I have a
lot of windows open they get grouped together.

However, is there a way to force group buttons together? So even if I only
have 3 windows open, and 2 of them are messenger buttons, can I group the
messenger buttons together manually?

Thanks!

Re: Force grouping taskbar buttons together

taskbar shuffle has an option to change the number of taskbar buttons to
start grouping along with many other nice stuff

free of course

Re: Force grouping taskbar buttons together

In the registry, under:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]

create an new REG_DWORD value named:

TaskbarGroupSize

and give it a value of 2.

Re: Force grouping taskbar buttons together

None of those suggestions have solved it I'm afriad. Actually, I'm not sure
you can do what I'm trying to do, which is to manually group according to
user preference (rather than to universally say always group by 2/3/etc.)

oh well.

What I said works!

taskbar shuffle has an option to change the number of taskbar buttons to
start grouping along with many other nice stuff

free of course

after you install and run it, right click on its icon in the TRAY and set
the options~!

Re: Force grouping taskbar buttons together

Mis-read your question I guess. I know of no way to leave all items
separate & then manually group.
