| Re: SP1 and defragging also the windows defrag does not really optimize the placement of the files on the disks as others do. The built in defrag as with all built in tools that windows has, is just a generic tool that may be ok for some but not for everyone. From other posts it seems that AlexB does not have much experience with real world situations and the needs of real users. Problem solved. Note that gravel isn't supported under Vista so you'll need to upgrade to XP. Or Linux. Gravel is fine with Linux. |

| Re: Your Professional advice If you were running Ubuntu you wouldn't have any crabgrass and wouldn't have the need to overseed. | Re: Your Professional advice Add the good grass seed. Don't use a pre-emergent. Spot treat existing crab grass with a post emergent spray compatible with your lawn grass variety. Wait as long as possible so the new seed roots well. As long as you get the crab grass before it flowers you'll win.
