searching content within files

I just got vista and it isn't searching content withing files with extension
xlr. I have xlr indexed and it still isnt working. Any suggestions?

You do not have an association for that file. (doubleclick opens it)
Rightclick one, then open_with, put a check in 'always use this', and browse
to Notepad.

Thanks, but it does have an association for that file type. These are my
Microsoft Works spreadsheet files all of them are listed as xlr.

Spreadsheets are database files that don't contain plain text. You would
need a query engine like Access.
