why cant i ajust the proformance for my hard drive??

please help! i want to make my disk proformance better for vista but it wont
let me set the value in my self!,ive marked in red what the value ment to be
as recondmended but my hard disk is under the recondmended value! so when i
set it! and reboot it take the value back to what it was before! and not
what i set for my hard drive proformance!!! someone plesase help!. dion

Well I suppose the question would be HOW are you setting it?

You need to uncheck that 'automatically manage ...' box in the top left,
click on 'Custom Size', set your sizes, and then on 'Set' when done.

ok i tryed what you said.....and...it did not work.it auto seleted (no
paging) wtf!! were i clicked (custom size) unchecked automatically manage
pageing and reboot and this was that happend.i sent a pick.

in the Inital size i put 200mb and in the maximum size i put 3069mb is that
right?

Try it with both minimum and maximum set to 3069

have not read the beginning of this discussion.

if your hard drive as you believe is not up to vista speed standards.
then just buy a faster one.
they are fairly cheap these days.

have you tries PCPitstop and or HDSpeed to see what the performance really is.
you need to stop/block all other programs when testing.
you can do this using msconfig.
