screensaver not working

dell inspiron 1501, vista 64, radeon express 1150. For some reason, my
screensaver won't work now. Not sure what changed. Tried uninstalling HID
non-user input data filter, didn't work. Tried installing latest ATI driver,
didn't work. Tried installing latest driver for wireless mouse, didn't work.
I've had my wireless optical notebook mouse 3000 for awhile and no problems
before. Tried system restore to earlier point, doesn't work. As I said, not
sure what changed or what windows update installed, but it has messed things
up. Also having problems with S3 state. If I close the lid, the display does
not shut off or does it go into S3 state. But when I open it, it goes to S3
state and loses the wireless connection. It can be woke up by pushing case
power button. This is frustrating because it doesn't happen UNTIL I open the
lid, not when I close it. Can someone help?????
