Wireless internet dropping

Please help me! My internet keeps dropping every 15 minutes or so and gives
me the option to automatically get new IP settings for network adapter or to
reset the network adapter. usually this works and it is just time consuming
to do it so often, but now my internet only works for the first 5 minutes or
so after I restart it and then goes down and says there is a problem with my
network adapter. My microsoft 6to4 adapter #2 has a problem with it, but my
computer says it is the most updated version available. what can i do? please
help! I have 8 other roommates who do not have vista and do not have any
trouble with their internet connection,
thank you for reading!! i'm desperate!

Re: Wireless internet dropping

Make sure you have the latest version of the driver for the wireless
adapter.
Make sure the properties of the wireless adapter are set to NOT 'allow
Windows to turn off this device to save power'.

Re: Wireless internet dropping

Thanks a lot but Windows is telling me that I have the most updated version
of this driver. When I looked in the properties of this driver, it said "This
device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers
required for this device. (Code 31)" I clicked on 'search for solutions' and
no solutions came up. Does this tell you any more about the problem? I don't
know what it is, but there is a yellow triangle next to this driver
(Microsoft 6to4 Adapter #2)

Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Re: Wireless internet dropping

I would check the manufacturer's website for an updated driver, or any
driver that is Vista Certified.
If it says 'can't load driver' usually it is either the wrong driver ot ir
was improperly installed.
Once you find the driver, if you rt click the installer and pick run as
administrator, it may install properly.

Re: Wireless internet dropping

thanks a lot!!
It DOES keep saying it cannot load driver, but I have an embarassing
question to ask..where do I look to install the device driver? Which website,
would it be a microsoft website or whichever computer I have or the company
of the wireless router? Thanks a lot, I just don't know what to do..I am at
my wits end!

It would be the company that supplies your wireless networking card.

Cheers.
