Vista Service Pack 1 RTM

I am a little unclear as to what the Vista Service Pack 1 RTM means. Is it
safe to install? When SP1 is officially released will I need to uninstall
the RTM version? What does RTM stand for?

Thanks

Release To Manufacturing.
It's typically the 'final' of any release.

Release To Manufacturing - this is the official release version which has
not been officially released yet :-)

It has been announced but so far it is not publicly available. If you
downloaded it from a source other than Microsoft it is suspect.

In my experience, any MS upgrade will result in poorer performance. Then you
would really wish you were dead.

Not yet, at any rate. I'd expect it to show up there at some point,
but when is anybody's guess.

I Am Anxiously Waiting For The Integrated Windows Vista Service Pack One
Builds To Appear On MSDN And Microsoft Tech Net As Well, Just FYI. The
Integrated Builds Will Probably Function Much Better Than An Original RTM
Build That Is Upgraded To Service Pack One RTM, Just FYI. However, I Will
Begin Beta Testing Microsoft Windows 7.0 Just As Soon As That Ends Up On
MSDN And Microsoft Tech Net Direct Subscriber Download's, Just FYI. I Did
Indeed Renew My MSDN And Microsoft Tech Net Direct Subscriptions Earlier
This Year, So That I Will Be Able To Beta Test Microsoft Windows 7.0, Just
As Soon As It Finds Its Way On To MSDN And Microsoft Tech Net Plus
Subscriber Downloads, Also Just FYI.

Re: Vista Service Pack 1 RTM

Frank, hasn't it come across your mind, that all the hatred you are putting
out on a daily basis is reflecting back to you in many ways? You know, this
is the exact reason why you have had increased health problems these last
few weeks.
It may not seem related but it is. Its exactly what I am saying, no
coincidence.

The hate you feel and throw to others is automatically relayed through all
the cells of the body, causing them to go into defense or fight mode, this
causes them to lower their ability to heal, or in other words the immune
system.

You are destroying yourself.

If you want more info I can give it to you so you can understand this
phenomena, backed with scientific proof of course.

Re: Vista Service Pack 1 RTM

It should be available via Windows Update around March Time, so assuming you
have windows update enabled to automatically download, it will do so once
the package is released.

Re: Vista Service Pack 1 RTM

This is a Just FYI as you so commonly say. MOST people here DO NOT have
MSDN or TechNet so your post is almost useless. Just like YOU. Keep to
Ubuntu and Windows 2008 Server and back again to Ubuntu. I thought you
really loved Ubuntu. What happened?

Why do you have such a HARD-ON for Windows Server on the desktop? That is
the most stupid thing to suggest (other than Ubuntu).

Oh yea, Just FYI
