| Auto sorting of files in folder When I rename my pictures they automatically sort alphabetically in the folder. I would like to know how to shut this feature off. I prefer to rename all my pictures first and then when I'm finished renaming right click and then I'll sort when I'm ready. -- AMG |

| Re: Auto sorting of files in folder Thanks for the reply. I've tried unchecking "Auto Arrange" as you describe in an empty area of the file but it still sorts out the files (pictures) instantly and automatically in order. I've also unchecked "Auto Arrange" in the View Menu as well. Nothing seems to work. Vista in adament about sorting automatically. Maybe another solution.... Thanks. -- AMG "Neerav" wrote: > right click in an empty area of the folder, go to view, unckeck auto > arrange. > > Neerav > > "AMG" <AMG@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:A65CB28C-ADEA-4278-B7EC-78AEF2DA052F@microsoft.com... > > When I rename my pictures they automatically sort alphabetically in the > > folder. Thanks. Try sorting on a field other than Name (click the column header of the field you want to sort on). Then renaming the file shouldn't affect the sort order. | Re: Auto sorting of files in folder no, but please write to Microsoft (microsoft.com-->contact--.Custoemrsupport-->contatcs--.email) and complain SUCH THAT SOON TO BE RELEASED WINDOWS7 WILL FIX IT!!! if people like us dont complain, hundreds of thousands others who suffered remain silent because they think 'someone else should bother complaining", then nothign will be fixed. i already wrote to MS, now you do the same please. Automatic resorting drives me insane to a point I might replace WinExplorer. |

It's also 3 less than the hypothetical '6 degrees of separation' between any word and a completely unrelated word ([joke]). -- Jon > -- > "ssuseawolf" <guest@unknown-email.com> wrote in message > news:c351b7d65056c36f60531842f0848776@nntp-gateway.com... >> >> Ken, just forget this whole thing.
