windows upgrade anytime - it remained as Home Premium instead of Ultimate

as a existing user of a OEM version of Vista Home Premium, I bought a
Microsoft windows Upgrade anytime pack with the upgrade path from Home
Premium to Ultimate. However when i went to install that upgrade through a
upgrade option (noot clean install) it won't upgrade to Ultimate and it
remained as Home Premium.

My toshiba laptop has a intel centrino duo 1.86 ghz dual processor, 1 gb ram
and 100 gb hard disk, I wonder if it is enough for the upgrade to Ultimate?

Is a clean install the best solution or what should I do?

Any suggestions?

Ultimate, like all versions of Vista, comes in both 64-bit and 32-bit
varieties.
