can't move pictures from disc to pictures folder on vista

how does one move files from disc to pictures? I open the disc, and unlike
windows 2000 which gives you a choice to move pics anywhere, vista does not.

Re: can't move pictures from disc to pictures folder on vista

Do you mean that you can't select the pictures (or a folder that contains
them) and copy & paste them to folder on your hard drive? Or are you trying
to do something else?

Re: can't move pictures from disc to pictures folder on vista

Start - Computer

go to your disc (probably CD or DVD?)
right-click on the folder, select "Copy"

In the Navigation panel (left side)
click on the arrow beside your user name
you should see several folders under your username
right-click on "Pictures", select "Paste"

Vista doesn't come with the "Copy to Folder" and "Move to Folder" options on
the right-click menu, but you can add them. however, some people advise
against it.

When you say "disc," do you mean a CD?

If so, you can't move files from a read-only medium like a CD. But you
can certainly copy them.
