One Year Later

This lovely OS called Vista just crashed while running Photoshop taking down
a complex image before I could save the file, having just finished the
complex layer adjustment.
Why I booted into Vista I have no idea: masochism I suppose. I see by time
stamps it had been about a month since I last booted into Vista on this dual
boot machine. I guess I never give up hope.
Despite SP1 Vista remains a slow, unstable, unreliable, incompatible piece
of crud unlike anything ever foisted on the public.
Microsoft sales figures for this turkey for the most part represent
individual purchasers, most of whom have no choice about OS. Few businesses
will touch Vista until absolutely forced to.
Given the nature of business software and networking there is no reason at
all to adapt Vista and uncountable reasons not to.
Vista is the biggest mistake Bill Gates ever made. He gets to retire with
the computer version of an Edsel as his legacy.

Re: One Year Later

Wasn't it really Photoshop that crashed? Just re-enter the program and it
will recover its own file. It is not a pirated version of PS is it. What
version? Frankly, you don't seem the type too keen on paying for software so
it's probably pirated.

Your information about most users and businesses comes from where? Doesn't
matter, it's inaccurate.

Dual boot. Pfft! Too bad it doesn't work. Sucks to be you.

Re: One Year Later

So it's a crash in Photoshop: are you getting any crashes in Windows /
Microsoft components?

What are your specific failure points as regards SP1?

As regards the Photoshop crash, what's the data for the crash according to
the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel under "View Update
History"? Have you checked with Adobe yet about this crash?

Re: One Year Later

Don't try to make vista look too good... PLEASE..

you have noe insulted it strongly enough!!! ..

its not "crud" rather its CRAP with all caps please!

It was not "foisted" rather it was "deployed" like a mass destruction
weapon...

But even if you insult vista, its not enough, you must insult the stupid
supporters that actually LIKE it
and spread hideus propaganda.. so...

Reapeat after me " VISTA IS STUPID and VISTA LUVRS MORE STUPID"

Now tell this to everyone you know, and tell them to tell everyone they know
to avoid this vista disaster

thanks

Can I answer please? can I? can I? can I?

SP1 doesnt and will never fix SH1T on vista, because vista is BEYOND any
REPAIR!

what it would need would be a redesign from ground up.. but guess what? they
are doing that for windows 7!

why give a SP2 for free as a complete rewrite of Crapista (vista) when you
can SELL windows 7 and get money for fixing
a horrible OS like vista?

Re: One Year Later

PS. you have the nerve coming in here with MSFT in your nick..???

Do you know how dangerous that is? There is a reason MSFT does not come in
here openly...!

you know that there are angry people that would love to lynch anyone that
was part of Vista?

Take my advice, loose the MSFT and when asked what you do, say you are a
farmer.

It might not be your fault for vistas crapicity, but hey people want to vent
on the first chance they get.

Or you can use the MSFT ego boosting thingy, but go to other newsgroups that
have MSFT products that are not
a CRIME TO HUMANITY (like vista is)!

Re: One Year Later

That's not the point of Windows 7 as I understand it, but perhaps you talk
to my development managers more than I do. =)

It's clearly not possible to please everybody all the time. If you're
interested in me trying to potentially help improve things for your
experience, providing specifics makes that possible. If you simply wanted
to vent spleen, that's fine, but bear in mind that limitation of the
discussion (avoiding specific problems) does make it impossible to more
directly address your pain points.

There are a variety of pain points addressed with SP1. If you're using
Vista, it would be doubtful that you would not benefit from those updates.
I'm not suggesting that you have Vista SP1 over for a romantic dinner and
fall in love and have tiny computer babies, just that it's meant to and does
address a set of user problems. Whether or not that pleases you is up to
you, but constructive feedback is the best way to actually improve things
going forward. =)

Best regards,
-Zach

No Sir its a well know FACT that the guys behind Vista are ARROGANT
and DO NOT LISTEN to feedback...

THIS IS MY FEEDBACK> A hideous stream of insults! I will not go into tedious
details..
The details are OUT THERE, you only have to open your eyes and minds!

Perhaps some CRAP throwing and humiliation would do you guys some good
since you are NOT FIT FOR THE JOBS!

Either produce a product that WORKS or ship out, and let other more talented
people who are ready to SERVE the needs of the users better!

That's what you can tell your "development managers" who should be tarred
and feathered for even considering to release a FAULTY and horrible OS like
Vista

Thank you for reading.

Re: One Year Later

It's a requirement by Microsoft that employees openly identify themselves.
I feel no need to dodge that, nor does it bother me. I don't acknowledge
nor value prejudice - that's why I work in a technical field. Politics
might be full of that, but then again that's why I turned away from that
field. =)

*shrug* I'd rather light a candle than curse the darkness. If people want
to help me make things better, rock on. If not, party on with yo' bad self,
and I'll cheerily carry on as always.

Miracles and improvements don't happen spontaneously. I attempt to put
mileage in to help make good things happen. If I've got N years on this
planet, I'm hopefully going to spend almost N years trying to make the world
a better place in the ways that I can. I don't think I really bother
anybody by trying to make things better.

Best regards,
-Zach

Re: One Year Later

No worries, I try to help where I can. I certainly can't help people who
don't want help. =)

I suspect I know "the guys behind Vista" better than you (and am one of that
lot myself, at that), but I'm OK with our differences of opinion - it's not
my job nor interest to defend or attack anyone. I'm just interested in
making things better.

If the challenge is to make "a product that WORKS", you might want to define
what that means to you and how Vista fails that metric. But then again,
that would be providing that specific feedback, and you've mentioned that
you're adverse to that. Oh well. =)

Best regards,
-Zach
