| Lost wireless networking after Vista Windows Updates My laptop downloaded 5 updates this evening after being switched off for about 2 weeks. The updates downloaded had the following K numbers: 941644 943411 905866 943302 943899 After installing and laptop rebooting, I could not see any wireless networks at all, despite being connected to the wireless LAN when I downloaded the updates. I then uninstalled each update individually to see which one caused the problem with the wireless, and nothing brought back the ability to see any local wireless networks (mine or the 5 others I can normally see in the vicinity of where I live). I then did a system restore and that returned the laptop to the same state as when I turned the laptop on for the first time this evening. Wireless was working fine. Did a bit of digging and the only updates that hints to being something to do with settings is update 941644, which talks about TCP/IP settings. All the others seem to relate to other things. Have configured updates on laptop so it stops automatically downloading and installing them. Anyone else had this problem and possible solution? |
