| Re: Gadgets Thank you for the info, and the setting was "update daily". However the Feed in Favourite shows dates in January, yet the feed in Gadget all stop at 30 December. and the later ones do not show at all -- Thank you for any assistance "Charlie42" wrote: > "stargazer" <stargazer@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > >I am using a gadget that appears to be linked to an RSS feed, but it does > >not > > update when I compare it with the Feed using Favourites > > Try to set a shorter feed update interval: > > Tools > Internet Options > Contents > Feed options. > > Charlie42 > |

You can do this in the gadget's settings, by changing the number of titles to be shown. This triggers a reload. There might be a conflict with the Feeds Synchronization service and your security software. Tell us if forcing an update doesn't do the trick, and we can take a look at that possibility. Charlie42 |

| Re: Gadgets Thank You Charlie 42.. I changed the frequency between 10 and 100. Would you care to tell us what firewall, AV, anti spyware and so on you use, and is the feeds gadget in question the one that ships with Vista? Did you change something on your computer prior to the update issue? Charlie42 |

| Re: Gadgets Thanks. I am using Norton 360. Nothing was changed when all my previous files were transferred from XP Pro, I had to re access my feeds details from a specific RSS feed. The gadget appeared to have loaded from the date my files were transferred. I can pick up the feeds OK from favourites which tell me any new ones that have appeared, It's just that they do not correspond across to the Gadget. I hope this gives you a bit more info. -- Thank you for any assistance "Charlie42" wrote: > "stargazer" <stargazer@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > > Thank You Charlie 42.. > > I changed the frequency between 10 and 100. The files are located here: c:\windows\system32\msfeedssync.exe c:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe Troubleshooting Feeds Gadget update problems for an upgraded OS (The rss team has email you can contact them at as well): http://blogs.msdn.com/rssteam/archive/2007/01/08/feeds-not-updating.aspx This kb article describes a slightly different problem than yours, but you can give the described fix a go (hosing the feeds cache): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926448/ As a last resort, try to completely uninstall the RSS gadget (in the sidebar plus menu), then restart and reinstall it. Sidebar gadgets can be downloaded from: http://vista.gallery.microsoft.com/vista/SideBar.aspx?a=&mkt=en-us Charlie42 |
