| Switch Users > Modem Hangs Up? I'm using a dial-up arrangement for Internet access. Whenever I switch users the modem (I assume - maybe it is something within Vista?) disconnects, and I have to connect again as the other user. I'd like to be able to switch users and keep the connection open, so that both users can access the Internet and do their email. Ideas on how this might be done? Best regards to all. -- ---------- CWLee Former slayer of dragons; practice now limited to sacred cows. | RE: Switch Users > Modem Hangs Up? CWLee If you are only getting this problem after sending emails, and depending what email acount you are using outlook or outlook express. For outlook express open email tools>options>connections and if in the dial up section has tick in hang up after sending and receiving untick and apply and try again. For outlook open email tools>opions> mail setup then at the bottom the same as above. see how you go let me know if this helps you. Many regards -- GT4U "CWLee" wrote: > > I'm using a dial-up arrangement for Internet access. > Whenever I switch users the modem (I assume - maybe it is > something within Vista?) disconnects, and I have to connect > again as the other user. I can send emails all day on either account without losing the connection. As soon as I log out (using START > Switch Users) of one account the connection is lost. > ... let me know if this helps you. Well, it didn't solve the problem, but I was getting discouraged that no one had addressed my issue. Now I know at least one person has tried. Thank you. Best regards. ============================ > "CWLee" wrote: > >> >> I'm using a dial-up arrangement for Internet access. >> Whenever I switch users the modem (I assume - maybe it is >> something within Vista?) disconnects, and I have to >> connect >> again as the other user.
