| WebDAV problems Hi, I am having problems connecting to my WebDAV directories on my IIS 6 server from Vista, problems which do not appear in earlier versions of Windows. After attempting to connect to the directory, I get the following error: \\myurl\DavWWWRoot is not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. This format of the specified network name is invalid." I have no idea what this DavWWRoot is, but when I check my IIS logs, there is no mention of it. The final entry in the log after I attempt to log on is one that shows that IIS authenticated me correctly, and it has a status code of 207, which, from my research, doesn't really tell me much. Any thoughts on what might be going on here, or how I can troubleshoot this further? Thanks, I. Kinal |

You need this update: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=17C36612-632E-4C04-9382-987622ED1D64&displaylang=en I actually gave up using it, until I found this out. I suppose many other people have given up on using WebDAV as well. ss. |

| Re: WebDAV problems Dear Customer, Thank you for your post. In order to narrow down the issue, I'd like to ask you some questions. 1. Does this issue occur on other Vista OS machines? 2. Could you please tell me the Version of your Vista OS machine? 3. Have you installed Office 2007 or 2003 on your Vista machine? 4. As we know, Web folders client based on MSDAIPP will no longer be supported in Vista. However, the Mini-Redirector is fully supported. Which kind of client is used under this scenario? Moreover, please first install the following hotfix for Web folder before further investigation. This update fixes various issues that occur when you use Web folders from your client computer to connect to a server that supports Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV). Description of the Software Update for Web Folders: May 18, 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=907306 Please check whether the situation will improve after the hotfix is installed. Thanks for your attention and I look forward to hearing from you. | Re: WebDAV problems Hi, Thank you for your responses! Here are my answers to the questions asked in the last post: 1. Yes, I have another user that reports the same problem on her machine as I am experiencing. 2. I am using Vista Ultimate. 3. I have Office 2007 installed on my machine. 4. I am not sure which kind of client I am using. Here's what I am doing: I went to Computer, right clicked, and selected Add Network Location, and I went through the wizard. I have also tried using the Open as Web Folder option in Internet Explorer. Either way, I get this same error. I already have the update you mentioned installed - in fact, I was not even able to get this far before installing that update. Thanks, I. | Re: WebDAV problems Dear Customer, Thank you for your reply. Firstly, I'd like to confirm that you have already installed the hotfix (KB907306) I mentioned in my last post on all your Vista OS machines. Is this correct? After further research, I find Web Folder Client might be affected by Windows Office Component. Therefore, I recommend you install the following Office Live Workspace Update for Windows Vista You can download this update from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=F8BC14E7-84CD-41B6- AA3A-5FE8985C78FB&displaylang=en Please test whether the issue still occurs after the update is installed.
