| Folder size in status bar at bottom of Explorer In XP, the size of any folder you selected in the left pane was shown in the Status Bar at the bottom. Can't seem to get Vista to do this. I know about the pop-up that does the same thing, but this only works when the folder is displayed in the right pane. There's an empty space for it in the Status Bar, but nothing ever gets displayed there. Also another annoyance: strategy I used in XP to make Details the default for all folders system-wide regardless of content doesn't stick...is it the BAGS thing again? I would have thought MS would fix this in Vista. Vista Home Prem. |

In XP if you selected a folder the status bar told you how many objects were in the folder and the total size of them. In vista you just get "1 item selected". So the question is how to get the XP behaviour in Vista. |

| Re: Folder size in status bar at bottom of Explorer You are not gonna get the same behaviour in XP unfortunately, if its in a directory, you just have to select all files and the 'Details Pane' will show the amount of space used by the files in the folder. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "David Sanders" <news@nospam.sandersweb.net> wrote in message news:uRYZ0rWVIHA.3452@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin] wrote: >> Please see the following thread: >> http://www.merawindows.com/Forums/tabid/324/forumid/88/threadid/17104/scope/posts/Default.aspx > That doesn't answer question. | Re: Folder size in status bar at bottom of Explorer But the "space" for it is there. Did someone on the design team just forget? How about the system-wide Details view for all folders issue?
