How can I remove the Windows Vista version sign?

Hello,
How can I remove the "Windows Vista (TM) Evaluation Copy. Build ..." sign in
right bottom position on the desktop?
Here is an example what I mean, if you didn't see it ever -
http://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7894/capturezq5.png
The message started to appear since I installed the Windows Vista SP1.
I use Ultimate version.
Thanks for all helpers,
Maor

Uninstall the SP1 beta you installed, then restart your computer two times.

Hi

On Windows XP info about Windows version was displayed depends on value
PaintDesktopVersion in registry. I can't check now but you can try:

Start menu -> run -> regedit
Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Modify PaintDesktopVersion entry to 0

You've installed an evaluation copy of the Service Pack, and you
desktop has been labeled accordingly. When you eventually replace the
Release Candidate with the final version of SP1, the branding should go
away.

Re: How can I remove the Windows Vista version sign?

You did install evaluation software ( SP1 which is Beta/RC and
timelimited ).. So you must not wonder that it turned the whole OS into
evaluation mode. If you would have read the documentation before you would
have been aware of this.

Anywhere, I don't see where the pain in having such an watermark is. It does
not substract any features from Vista and it also does not say that the copy
is not legit. It's just to recognize those Vistas as a different version
than stock/retail.

By the time it goes rtm there will be no watermarks.

When the final version of Service Pack 1 is released you will not see the
build tag anymore.

It will go away when you install the release copy of SP1.
It would help if people read the documentation for SP1 RC.
