I think you need to paid version of AVG to work with Vista.

Maybe Avast will work???

Maybe you're using an older version? Since you didn't tell us anything
about what version of AVG you're using or what you're doing when you get
the message, that's just a guess. I don't use AVG, preferring Avast
(free also), but I do know that the current version of AVG is compatible
with Vista.

Version 7.5 should work fine. What version are you using?

Re: AVG not compatibile

If you have Norton Internet Security software installed you need to
uninstall it, reboot and reinstall AVG 7.5.

I'm also using AVG Free with Vista and it's been working since day 1.
Try doing a clean install with the latest version (7.5.516)

Re: AVG not compatibile

M$ have just downloaded updates of V*sta and Xp, as usual without letting
users know what is going on (computer rebooting while you're working on a
difficult job...).

It seems that this has provoked incompatibility messages for several
applications, including Acrobat Reader, which is another example of duff
software that only corporate IT managers would be ignorant enough to pay
money for. Here again, the automatic update disrupted my work, because
Adobe, like M$ are too stupid to be able to propose to defer the update till
I'M ready.

that was yesterday. Today, D*ll did the same thing.

It's time to put a stop to this imperialism.

Regards

I don't know enough about AVG to know why momma is getting the
message, but the free version *does* work with Vista.

Yes, Avast also works with Vista. I'm using it here right now.

The free AVG works with my Vista Home Premium desktop PC no problems.

Re: AVG not compatibile

AVG has worked fine for me in the past on Windows Vista. It is important,
though, to make sure you have the latest version.

Re: AVG not compatibile

You want to stop it?

Go to the updates center, and select either
notify me or download but let me choose.

There ya go. the imperialists are defeated.

Same same Adobe. You don't have to let it check
for updates automatically.

Crush the tyrants. Configure your software to do
what you want.

Re: AVG not compatibile

The automatic update disrupted your work because you allowed it to.

Re: AVG not compatibile

You have Auto Updates set to download and install. This isnt a Microsoft
nor Adobe thing. This is your issue.
