No icon file....Icon irratation ?????

Try one last time...I will keep this as simple as possible, I have no icon
file, so, no icons to choose for folders,files,etc.... it is a Vista Home
Premium,32bit,media-center. Have done all proceedures from HP/Microsoft/with
no success. Would appreciate any help. (if you do not understand issue, DONT
reply) Programs from net sites not accepted by
Vista........ready,set.....GO !

Clean reinstall Vista after backing up your Data.

In your PREVIOUS thread I already told you 2 files to look in for icons.
Once again check...

%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll
%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll

Please try reading the threads in their entirety, especially YOURS before
you post.

I'd venture a guess that HP told hime the same thing 20 minutes into the
support call.

Correct DanS......you win,,,,after 8 re-installs and back-ups I quit with HP
support....that is the limit of their capabilities with Windows. Oh so glad
to see someone gets this "stupid" little problem, who knows....maybe its a
really major one ???
