I really need help with downloading!

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit Version. the internet is working
perfectly fine, now I need to download the drivers for some hardware (msn
live messenger direct x programs like that etc. The problem is I go to the
microsoft site and even google it for different sistes and try to download
these drivers and guess what I get the following message and no way to
download anyway..

Windows has found a problem with the file
File name
Unknown publisher
The file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that
verifies the publisher

I get the same message with everyone I try to download.
Attempts to fix so far with no success
1. I turned off the firewall completely
2. I added the domain to my allow site in internet options
3. I turned off all security software

How can I get around this message I really need those drivers?

Thanks
Luke

MSN Live Messenger Download is at, or near, the top of your Programs list
off the Start button. As for hardware drivers, get them from their
respective manufacturers websites, not from Microsoft.

screwlouse,

Once you download the program you can right click on the file and
select Properties. Click on the Unblock button and then click Apply and then
OK. Try to install the application now and it should work.
If not, right click on the file again and select "Run as
Administrator". This should solve your problems.
If, for some reason, you still cannot install any applications I would
check your firewall settings and AntiVirus settings, plus any other
applications you may have that can control or stop the installation of files.
You should not have to disable your UAC or any other security
applications or settings to be able to download and install programs on
Vista. You should not have to install them in Safe Mode either.
In relation to the downloading of drivers you should take the advice of
Kevin and always download the drivers from the manufacturers website, not
Microsoft Update or Windows Update.
I hope this helps you to be able to install your applications. Have a
nice day.

You have something in common with Brain Dead Morons. Just FYI. At least
the other Kevin DOESN'T capitalize the first letter of each word. Just FYI.
At least the other Kevin doesn't go looking for Gay sex with his buddy the
"Senator". Just FYI.

Just FYI

I think CB has your solution. If not, see the following tutorial.
