using microsoft office 2003 allong side of microsoft works with Vista Home Premium?

Have a Dell laptop that has Microsoft Works installed. Want to install
Microsoft Office Professional 2003. Do I need to uninstall Works prior to
installing Office? Can I leave works on mach. and install office too? Reason
I would like to keep works is I haven't had a chance to use it . It came
installed on my laptop from Dell. My desktop has the Office Professional on
it and all my data bases are made in office. Could wait I suppose? If anyone
has information on this I would appreciate your advise! Thank you in
advance!

Hi,

You can leave it on and install Office as well, I've seen that on several
machines without conflicts.

If you are going to use MS Office 2003, you will probably not want to use MS
Works, but it can be left installed as it does not conflict with Office..

I apprciate all responces to my question! I think i will install Office
Professional and If MS Works does not coflict I will keep it and try out
some off its features. If it gives me any trouble I can uninstall it! These
newsgroups are very informative and helpful! It is awsome to read and learn
for free! Thankyou!

Yes, no problem

Although you *can* keep it, recognizing that Microsoft Works is sort
of like a junior version of Microsoft Office, there really isn't any
reason to. It's unlikely that you would want the stripped-down
functionality of Works when you have available the greater
functionality of Office.

On the other hand, there's really no downside to keeping it, unless
you're short of disk space, so there's no reason to recommend
uninstalling it either.
