| Vista wakes immediately from sleep I have read many posts on this, but have a new issue ... Microsoft have a knowledge base article on the topic A computer that is running Windows Vista appears to sleep and then immediately wake The advice does NOT solve my problem. The relevant details: 1. No devices are armed to wake my machine from sleep -- when I execute the command "POWERCFG -DEVICEQUERY wake_armed" no deivces are shown. 2. I put the machine to sleep and it wakes 'immediately' (approx 30 secs according to system logs to go to sleep and wake up) 3. I try again, but this time I unplug a generic USB hub that has no devices on it (the hub is a part of my DELL 2001FP monitor) -- this time it works and the system stays asleep! ANy ideas on how to remedy (aside from the obvious not using the hub on the monitor!) |

| Re: Vista wakes immediately from sleep Thanks for the reference -- but it does not relate to my issue. The issue is specifically that the machine immediately wakes from sleep only if the USB hub is plugged in - otherwise all is AOK. (see original post) Any other ideas? |

| RE: Vista wakes immediately from sleep I really APOLOGIZE; I cannot figure out how to post a new question. Everytime I try I get nothing but notification of pop-ups being blocked. 'TheFuzz', I'm sorry for using your thread; I just don't know what else to do. My problem is getting rid of the sidebar. I downloaded a game that takes up the entire screen except for the black sidebar, causing me to not see the entire game contents. It doesn't appear on my screensaver, but unless that's on, I don't know what to do. Could someone please advise? Thanks so much. | Re: Vista wakes immediately from sleep Click start, and type in sidebar in the search box. You should get a result of "Windows Sidebar Properties", click that. Take the check out of the box that says "Start Sidebar When Windows Starts". Let me know if this works. judy wrote: > I really APOLOGIZE; I cannot figure out how to post a new question. > Everytime I try I get nothing but notification of pop-ups being blocked. > 'TheFuzz', I'm sorry for using your thread; I just don't know what else to do. > My problem is getting rid of the sidebar.
