Backup software for Vista

I am trying to figure out why backup for Vista has become slow. I am
talking about taking 10 hours to backup a Vista Home Premium machine
with 2 gbs. of ram to do a backup on 35 gb's of data ?

I have tried Gost 12, Acronis 11 Home and O&O Dosk Image 2.1.

Any ideas?

Prior to 11/22/07, backup took about 30 minutes.

thanks

Probably not your problem but I use Acronis and a new backup takes a
very long time but an incremental can need only a few minutes. Are you
possibly starting with a new backup where before you did an
incremental?

That's about all I can think of unless you've changed your backup
device? I have a partition I've used and it's MUCH faster than using
my portable hard drive which is USB 2.0.

Re: Backup software for Vista

I am backup up to a USB Extreal drive which I have used before. I make
full backups. Device is USB 2 and I am connecting to USB 2 port.

This backup is working faster. I guess using a USB 1.1 hub makes a
difference.

Thanks for the idea.

You're welcome, glad it's working faster now.

Re: Backup software for Vista

I use Acronis 10 on Vista Ultimate and a complete image of two partitions,
about 70 GB, takes 40 minutes.
