I got this strange error today when installing last nights automatic
updates. A check of the help files tells me what to do if I get this error
WHILE trying to check for updates but this is not the case as Windows Update
checks for updates fine but just won't install them. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you. I should have just done that in the first place. I do wish
Microsoft would make it easier to find the manual download instead of making
you search for it by clicking 2 different links but at least they do make it
available and this did exactly as you said it did. It also got rid of the
"hidden" update for 1.1 SP1 after the manual install.

I have your problem too, I followed all the instruction to fix the problem
that caused the error but with no succes.
The other problem I have is that 2 days go I've installed Skype and since
then Internet Explorer stops working....
Are the 2 problems connected to Skype??
