Import contacts from Microsoft outlook or Windows mail to windows vista contacts

I imported my contacts from microsoft outlook in to Windows mail, but it
does not show in Windows contacts. Do I have to imported?
It does not make sense that two windows program should not have an easy
connection? When I open Windows contacts and press import I dont even have
the format to import from Microsoft Outlook or Windows mail?
Can any one help?
