Well as it happens I just put Vista on my media center machine to see if I
want to buy it..
52 minutes including downloading the updates (I saw 38 of them), AV, and
Hauppauge drivers.
It looks like its working fine too.. just doing a couple of timed recordings
to check its OK.

You should be able to install Ubuntu in less time than that so I guess we
will see you using it after lunch.

What would you suggest as a media center replacement for Ubuntu (if I can
borrow a monitor from somewhere as Ubuntu doesn't like my HD TV and I can't
see anything to change the settings).
