BETA Testers

Hi - I hope I have the right group. I have a program at http://www.bandwidthvista.com
which could do with a keen eye to look over it as it is in BETA. I was
hoping that some of you Vista users would give it a go..

Thanks for reading.

Re: BETA Testers

why are you using vista the beta quality OS then?

You are doing MS's dirty work... I hope you realize you are a beta tester
with that crap OS.

STFU capin' crunch.
You've demonstrated that you know nothing at all about computers in
general and Vista specifically.
You're just a troll and a loser.

I think he is on house arrest with an ankle bracelet that won't let him out
of the door, or some pimply headed 13 year old kid whose blow up doll has a
hole in it (Not the regular hole, but one he tore into!)

Just FYI :-)

Well, it runs fine here however I am using Ubuntu Feisty 32 as host with
VirtualBox and Vista 32 on top of that. I have noticed that my network
speed is better with Vista in the virtual box than it is with the real
Vista but your software seems to be reading accurately.

Also installed on same setup in XP Pro with apparently the same good
results (and a lot less time arguing with UAC) - will leave them both
running to see if anything crashes...

(Obviously each virtual machine is only recording it's own IO)

Any group is the "Right" group to make a polite request, not a problem
and I note you made the Beta status very clear in the web page.

These are recent installs by the way so my NET CLR is up to date, let's
see that's a VM inside of a VM with another VM inside a VM both inside a
VM on a real OS that apparently is "Only a Toy".

Tomorrow I will go back and read the instructions :)

Master BETA Testers

I heard that Symantec needs some Master BETA testers. Any takers? BTW, you
need Vista experience.

Just FYI.

By the way I didn't see a reply / contact link on the web page, and you
might want to add some kind of privacy policy or assurance for anyone
deciding to respond with a real email address, or did I miss something?

Repeatedly clicking on the map (Canada Actually) cause both XP and Vista
versions to crash but I was able to copy and paste the details

Stopped working

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
Problem Signature 01: bandwidthvista2.exe
Problem Signature 02: 2.0.0.0
Problem Signature 03: 472a1b32
Problem Signature 04: System.Drawing
Problem Signature 05: 2.0.0.0
Problem Signature 06: 4536f335
Problem Signature 07: 16f
Problem Signature 08: 29
Problem Signature 09: AMAG3AACMAWG2XAF344U21ACVE5PSTKL
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

This after an hour or two, restarted both and can;t replicate the
problem, but bear in mind these are virtual machines running on the same
one I am using to surf / type / email etc so not necessarily a program
fault, worth checking for though.

I agree, maybe not a net pro tool but could be very handy to have a
user install it to get some diagnostics from them

The above problem persists in both versions but only shows up after a
period of use (with the display on screen - not sure about minimized) so
is there something like a memory leak? Bear in mind the VMs are running
with less memory than the system would normally have available directly
so this may not show up in a "Real" machine for a long time.
