driver for USB to DB25 female cable

I'm trying to hook up my old HP Laserjet 1100 with my new HP desktop.
I bought the USB to DB25 female cable so I could hook up the old
printer since my desktop only has USB inputs. I can't get it to work
though. No luck printing. The PC recognizes that I've hooked up a
new device, confirms I have the driver for it, but can't get it to
print.

Running Vista. Are there specific drivers I can download to get this
cable to work?

What notice sometimes is with some USB based scanners and printers,
especially from HP, you have to install the device driver first before
connecting, restart then connect the device and will showup or start
working.

Re: driver for USB to DB25 female cable

This may be a really wild shot, but I could not get my HP1200 printer to
work with Remote Desktop using the USB. It may be a redirect problem since
it is using a USB port. I don't know if it will help or not, but you might
review this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302361 It solved my print
with RD.
