Deleting a registry key Options

Hello

I need to delete a registry key for a software that needs
reinstallation. I get the following error message in the registry
editor:

Error while deleting registry key LEGACY_VMNETBRIDGE: Error while
deleting key

How can i fix the problem? I already tried a registry cleaner, and
tried doing it from safe mode, but couldn't delete it.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Did you check permissions on that key to see if you have a sufficient level
to delete it?

Re: Deleting a registry key Options

You have to run regedit.exe as administrator.
Search for regedit on start menu then right click and choose run as
administrator.
Should work.

Re: Deleting a registry key Options

regedit asks for elevation, no need to do so by right click (provided UAC is
in it's default configuration, of course)..

Re: Deleting a registry key Options

This seems to be everyone's solution so I'm guessing this answer HAS to be
right but nothing I try seems to work; I'm having this problem too. I have a
camera that has worked on this computer for almost a year and all of a sudden
the camera will not transfer pictures. I called Kodak, Kodak states they
cannot help me - it is a Toshiba (system) issue; I called Toshiba and they
claim they cannot help me - it is a microsoft issue.

I do not get an error code just "Cannot delete VID_0000&PID_0000: Error
while deleting key."

I have tried changing permissions, running regedit under administrator, and
a few other suggestions but nothing seems to work. I am not so sure that it
has anything to do with permissions because i am the only person that ever
gets on this computer.

Although, I will note that some permissions I changed just added a "new"
category --- for example, I already had "everyone" and when I clicked "edit"
and changed the permissions, I now had two "everyone"s.

My warranty runs out soon and I think Kodak is only trying to hold out until
they do not have anything to cover --- I've asked them several times for a
new USB cable. I need to get these pictures off my camera and my memory card
in time for Christmas; there are other options such as transferring them onto
disk at a store; but that sort of defeats my purpose for the camera and the
software!

Can anyone help with any type of new solutions?
