| Lock Button on Start Menu will not show Menu When my new laptop arrived about six weeks ago, I had two buttons on the Start menu. The red 'Shut Down' button & the 'Lock' button which in turn displayed a menu giving various options such as Sleep, Shut Down, Log Off, Restart etc. A couple of weeks ago, the 'Lock' button's menu disappeared, or rather became so small that I have great difficulty in accessing it (you need a magnifying glass to see it). I have tried changing the various Power options in Control panel but nothing I do will restore the status quo. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. |

| Re: Lock Button on Start Menu will not show Menu Thanks - very helpful. Have copied the notes on the 'alternative solution' to my hard drive and will read them at leisure and then, maybe use them. Will also go back to your Blog from time to time to read more in depth. | Re: Lock Button on Start Menu will not show Menu Hi GeePee, Are you sure that there are only two buttons? There should be three - the two that you described and a third one of about 1/2 the size of the other two which is a small right-pointing arrow. If you hover over this third button you get the various shutdown options. Dwarf "GeePee" wrote: [color=blue] > Thanks - very helpful.
