Quickbooks Problem with Vista

Hi,
I have searched through the threads and see where others have had problems
installing, but I don't think I have seen a solution. Not sure if I read it
here, but I think I read that no version except 2007 is compatible. Is that
correct?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Quickbooks Problem with Vista

That is correct - QB 2007 (and nothing prior to that) is compatible with
Vista

Re: Quickbooks Problem with Vista

Thank you! Have had 2000 Pro and have used it through several OS's with no
problem. I can't use Acrobat 5 either. My less expensive software programs
have been OK. Oh well, I should have done my homework!

Re: Quickbooks Problem with Vista

I spent several hours yesterday struggling to get Vista to share its
Quickbooks 2008 data files. Apparently Vista does peer to peer file
sharing differently. Quickbooks 2008 on the host Vista PC worked just
tfine. However, the symptom at the other clients, both Vista and XP,
was that it took almost 3 minutes to get to the login screen for the
data file. I thought it might have to do with anti-virus or perhaps
the deskjet/scanner software. Disabling these and other startup
programs had no effect. After running diags and finding the hardware
to be in good shape, I finally moved the data files to an XP machine.
The data file login screen appeared in about 12 seconds, not 3
minutes. I concluded that Vista cannot share Quickbooks 2008 data
files. This could be due to different factors: the new IP stack? Vista
Shadow Copy services? server services? Vista hosting Quickbooks 2008
at this time is a bad combination.
