I am attempting an upgrade of XP to Vista Ultimate. I am getting a
compatible problem with a program they found called "Nero - Burning
Rom". I uninstalled my nero program, did a search for any other Nero
and find none but cannot get past this part and therefore cannot
install the Vista. Anyone have any thoughts?

General CleanTool is Nero's recommended program for uninstalling any Nero software:

I did the clean tool and am still tgetting the same message!

Yeh, you're trying to install a pathetic "operating system". Proof positive
is what you're confronted with here. Imagine how well Fista will work if it
has this much problem just installing.

Did you restart the computer before re-running setup? My brother had NERO 7
installed on XP Home Edition, and I upgraded over it to Vista then installed
the latest compatible version of NERO and worked just fine. Maybe after
installing Vista you could update NERO 7 then run the Clean up tool.
