| Outlook 2003 - inconsistent e-mail delivery I upgraded to a new computer five days ago, and am running Vista Business with a clean install of Office 2003, inlcuding Outlook 2003, build 11.8169.8172, updated to SP3. (Previously, I was running Office 2003 on a Windows XP Home machine.) Since then, i am getting reports that some e-mails are not going through. Worse, I get no indication whatsoever that the e-mails are not being delivered. They just disappear into the ether without a trace. I've seen it particuarly the case with Yahoo servers (inlcuiding my own Yahoo e-mail account), but with others also. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing OL 2003 / Vista to not deliver e-mails properly? |

| Re: Outlook 2003 - inconsistent e-mail delivery You may get a more definite error message that can help you by using Event Viewer. Type eventvwr.msc in the run box>Windows Logs>Application and look for Outlook errors using the down arrow. One of the frequent causes of Outlook send and receive errors are some 3rd party firewalls and antivirus programs' scans of emails. You don't need them so turn them off if you have them (the scans) and you don't need more than one software Firewall and Vista has decent software firewall. Have you tried either Help>Detect and Repair prior to Outlook 2007 or Hewlp>Office Diagnostics which replaces Detect and Repair in OL 2007. Good luck, CH "Coby" <Coby@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9AD4BEAA-FDFA-479C-BBEB-1F94E632301A@microsoft.com... >I upgraded to a new computer five days ago, and am running Vista Business > with a clean install of Office 2003, inlcuding Outlook 2003, build > 11.8169.8172, updated to SP3. | Re: Outlook 2003 - inconsistent e-mail delivery Chad: Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, none of them have solved the issue. -- Nothing in Event Viewer concerned Outlook. -- I have no third party firewalls or AV programs scanning my e-mail. -- Running Detect and Repair did not help. Again, it's ONLY from mail from OL 2003 and only to certain domains (including but not limited to Yahoo). I wonder if there are any mail settings issues that would be consistent with this behavior. Any ideas? Coby "Chad Harris" wrote: > You may get a more definite error message that can help you by using Event > Viewer. | Re: Outlook 2003 - inconsistent e-mail delivery None further Coby. But if I were you, I'd take this to the MSFT Outlook group which is overflowing with experts who have been knocking these out of the park for years every day. That's probably one of your best chances at solving this.
