Word document format botched in vista.

When I try to open documents created on word 2003 with xp in vista with word
2003 the single page prints on 2 pages, the font looks half size and the
tables are over size. The format is botched up. Can some one please help?

Re: Word document format botched in vista.

Hi Pat--

Using Word 2003 on Vista would make a difference than using it on XP. Could
you mean documents created with Word 2003 on XP with Word 2007 on Vista?

If this is so, does this help you?

You will need to describe what "botched up" means. Please remember that
we cannot see them. The printing issue normally occurs when you don't
have the correct printer drivers installed and has nothing to do with
opening files. Did you download and install the Vista printer drivers
from the printer mftr.'s website? If not, then that is the reason the
printing doesn't work from the Vista machines.

Re: Word document format botched in vista.

Hi Malke
The documents do print correctly, they print as they look on Vista, This is
not a printer problem. The document prints on one page off of XP on Vista it
prints on two pages and the print sayes it is size 12 font but it look and
prints like size 8 or 9 font. The tables are much larger then the ones on XP
and the print does not even fill up the tables. IT looks like every but the
print is expanded.

You might try OpenOffice.org - there would be a good chance it would
render properly - won't cost a nickel to find out.

That's not quite what you said in your first post:

"The documents are all bothced [sic] up and and do not print correctly"

You didn't answer my question about the drivers.

1. What is the printer make/model?
2. Did you download the Vista drivers from the printer mftr.'s website
and install them on the Vista machines?
3. Do new documents created in Office 2003 on the Vista machine look and
print right or is it only the ones you made in XP?

Pat--

Have you looked in Event Viewer under Windows Logs>Application to see any
errors? Have you gone to Help>Detect and Repair and run it?
