Pan newsreader & Vista

Anyone using the Pan newsreader 0.14 on Vista? I used Pan on Linux and
I'd like to try it with Vista. It also requires gtk+ for Windows. I've
downloaded both but haven't installed them because I'm worried about
how they will work with Vista.

Why would you be 'worried about how they will work with vista'? Either
they work or they don't work - I sincerely doubt they'll screw the system
up any worse than it already is.

Have been using Pan 0.131 on Vista Business for the last few months.
The only problem I have found with it is that wne you right click on an
item the conect menu items 'disappear' as you mouse over them. I think
there is some issue with the graphics package.

Apart from this small problem, no complaints with the application.

Try right clicking the program's shortcut > Properties > Compatibility.
There are some options there which you could try, like disabling Themes.

ss.

You are probably correct, and if I was really bothered by the problem I
would have put some effort in to chasing a solution.
Currently on XP at work, will play around tonight and see if I get a
solution.
Will post if I get a fix.

If you have Vista Ultimate or Enterprise editions, Unix Pan should work
in those environments.

Just build it from source using gcc supplied in Subsystem for Unix
Applications (SUA).

I have Vista Business 64. I have the executable Pan and gtk+2.10.1.
Hopefully it will work...

ss as promised ....

Your suggestion of diabling Themes has correct the problem with the text
in the context menus.
Thanx
