Vista backup problems please can you help?

Please could someone help. I have a new loptop with Vista Home premium
installed. (its a Rock Extreme
My backup disc has been set as 'D', a partition of 'C', and the system
keeps saying that I am running out of disc space and backups keep
failing. So I transfered to CD for my backups but they won't finish. I
keep getting error message 'Access Denied' (0X80070005). The DVD starts
writing but doesn't finish. Please any suggestions??
Joe

Re: Vista backup problems please can you help?

Check out :

http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/pag...-problems.aspx

File Backup fails with the following error:

Access is denied. (0x80070005)
This error occurs because the recovery partition is enabled for File Backup
or System Restore and is almost full. To work around this, do not select D:\
as a backup source. Also, go to System Protection in Control Panel and make
sure that D:\ is not enabled for restore points.

Good luck,

CH

Re: Vista backup problems please can you help?

First off, you should not be using that 'D' partition as your backup
destination; it is only there for the purpose of system recovery.

When I started out with my Vista Home Premium computer, I tried
to use DVD's as my backup media; however, this was futile for me because it
took too long and used many DVD's. I bought an external 160 GB USB drive
for about $60 that I use solely for backups and that has made my computer
backup management a breeze. You really need to have a separate hard drive
as the destination for Automatic Backup in Vista.
