Disable windows flip in Vista Aero?

I am annoyed by the thumbnails when I alt-tab in Vista, plus I know they take
up video memory I could use elsewhere. But I can't figure out how to
customize Aero other than colors and transparency that I get when I go to
Personalization.

Any ideas?

That's not 3D Flip. I think the thumbnails on the ALT-TAB switching are
good, and I use the powertoy to get the same in XP.

I think you can switch them off here, but I am not sure:

Right click on Computer, select "Properties" then chose "Advanced System
Settings", and, on the "Advanced" tab, click the "Settings" button under the
"Performance" section. Go to the "Visual Effects" tab; there you can choose
options to enable or disable certain visual effects, very similar to the
User Interface of Windows XP.

ss.

Re: Disable windows flip in Vista Aero?

I found the list of visual effects, but I have no idea what most of them
mean. And there is no help or explanation for that dialog box. God forbid
it should be user friendly. That would violate some MS code of conduct no
doubt.

Does anyone have any idea which one it is, or what they all mean?
