Sig-in Error on Office Communicator 2007

I am running Windows Vista Business, i have installed Office Communicator
2007 successfully. Aftre typing in my 'Sign- in address', 'User name ' and
'Password' I get the following message "'Cannot sign in to Communicator'. You
may have entered your sign-in address, username and password incorrectly or
the authentication service may not be incompatible with this version of the
program". if i do this from an XP workstation it works fine, i.e. same
sign-in username and password.

Since you are not getting much response on your post I thought that you
might be wondering if this thing is actually working.
It is.
We just had the exact same issue and found that our issue was actually
a DNS issue. That's right, DNS. The machine in question is a laptop that
is docked. The default WiFi connection that was being used was
"unsecured" and as such was not using our internal DNS server for
resolution. Once we "Disconnected" not "Disabled" (ours looses BlueTooth
when Disabled) from the 'unsecure' WiFi the Communicator hooked right in
and was right as rain in less than 15 seconds.
PS. We did try several other 'solution' attempts first without any
luck.

I hope that this helps you out.
