Slow Internet Speeds after Windows Update KB905866

I have been using Windows Ultimate since January and normal Internet speed
averages 6mb download. In July I found that the speed had dramatically
reduced to around 300kb. I contacted my ISP - who found nothing wrong with my
telephone line. I then saw that immediately prior to the speed dropping there
had been a Windows Update.I done a System Restore prior to the update and my
speed returned to 6mb.
On 14th Sept I noticed that my speed had once again dropped to around 300kb
and I again suspected that WU might be the cause.
I did a System Restore and again the speed increased to 6mb
I the returned to WU and installed each update seperately and found that
when I installed the Update for Windows Mail Junk E-Mail Filter KB905866 the
speed dropped.
I have `hidden` this update but am at a loss as to why this should happen.
I do not run any `Anti Spyware` and have Avast AntiVirus installed along
with Windows Firewall
Any help would be appreciated
