Program removal

I am new to Vista. I recently loaded software for my Lexmark printer but the
software does not work. I tried to uninstall it but it does not show up in
the remove program list so I tried to delete the folder itself but I can't
get Vista to delete it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Program removal

Presumably, you installed XP drivers from the original installation CD..

There is a utility on this Blog which may help you remove all things Lexmark
prior to installing Vista drivers..

I have not personally tried this as I do not own a Lexmark printer..

Don't just delete the folder, a program adds more to your system then what
is stored in that folder.

First of all: Check out your computer manufacturers web site. They should
have a download page for Vista drivers and software. If you find one for
your printer there, download it and update the software you have already
installed.

In case you still have to (want to?) remove what you recently installed, try
one of these methods (in this order):

1. Find the Lexmark folder in your start menu. Look for an Uninstall
program.
2. Run the Lexmark installation again, and see if the installation program
has an option to remove installed components.
3. Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft.
