| Re: MS Office 2003 has problems in Vista I just resolved the Office Assistant problem, downloading the Microsoft Agent Core Components and manually copying the file Agentdpv.dll from c:\Windows\MSAgent to c:\Windows\System32 How come Microsoft did not include this easy fix in SP3? | Re: MS Office 2003 has problems in Vista Are the Office Assistants that important? Its something Microsoft has been trying phase out since Office XP, they are not even in Office 2007. If you are looking for help in Office applications, I would use the Help > Contents and Index features instead of depending on Clippy. Its possible that Service Pack 3 intentionally removed them or its just an incompatible aspect under Vista. You might want to post this issue in the follow ng: microsoft.public.office.misc -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry "PepeGuitar" <PepeGuitar@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8CA8C08B-DB5D-47F4-9569-5B73AD09BB12@microsoft.com... >I just resolved the Office Assistant problem, downloading > the Microsoft Agent Core Components and manually > copying the file Agentdpv.dll from c:\Windows\MSAgent > to c:\Windows\System32 > How come Microsoft did not include this easy fix > in SP3? > > > "Andre Da Costa[ActiveWin]" wrote: > >> Other than Office Assistants, what other problems are you experiencing >> with >> the suite on Vista? >> -- >> Andre >> Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com >> My Vista Quickstart Guide: >> http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog...3DB!9709.entry >> "PepeGuitar" <PepeGuitar@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:4E1177AC-07F3-4FA6-A263-8A9AA7F7E371@microsoft.com... >> > NO, dear Dave, MS Office 2003 does not work fine with Vista. >> > It has all kinds of problems and SP3 didn't make any difference. >> > It stops and gives you debug errors all the time. >> > For example, try to get to work the Gallery of Office Assistants >> > in Options.
