OK to remove IE icon from Quick Launch toolbar?

I use Mozilla FF but I know that ocassionally I need IE.

When I tried to delete the icon from Quick Launch tolbar, I didn't get
the familiar message saying that
"you're deleting a shortcut, to delete the program, use Add/Remove"
when I hit delete, I get :"are you sure you want to remove this file
to recycle bin?"

I don't want to remove IE from the laptop, just the IE icon from Quick
Launch toolbar.

Hi Lisa,

IE is integrated into the system, you can't remove it even if you want to.
The quicklaunch icon is just a shortcut like any other and is safe to
remove.
