| Installing applications - long pause Since building my new Vista Ultimate PC, I have found that installing applications is consistently very slow. What seems to happen is that I'll get to the screen with the installation progress bar, and the bar will not advance for a long time - sometimes several tens of minutes. Then, the installation will suddenly "wake up" and proceed to its normal conclusion. I have wondered whether this is related to the seemingly well known problem in copying files being slow (while Vista calculate how long it is going to take to do the copy!), but I really don't know. Any ideas, anyone? |

| Re: Installing applications - long pause Thaks. I just checked, and all my mobo drivers are up to date. The HDD maker (Hitachi) doesn't seem to offer any utils or drivers.
