| Can't unassociate or associate anything Vista's decided to prevent me from changing associations for any type of file, under any circumstances. I executed an ODS file expecting Open Office to load. Instead Adobe Reader came up, and informed me that it couldn't load the file because it was in an unsupported format. What a surprise! I've always used Adobe to handle speadsheets! I went to Control Panel/Default Programs section, then into the "association" area. Lo & behold, I can't change anything. Everything's greyed out. I tried Ramesh Srinivasan's "unassociate" program. The extension in question was removed from the list of associated files, but when I try to "open with" or re-enter the association area within Control Panel I still have no options, and if I double-click an ODS file, I still get Adobe. I hadn't changed anything on the system since I last loaded an ODS. No new programs, nada. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Fred B. |
