Help with AVG Free

I'm having a problem with AVG Free. It's the newest version
(487a1130). It installs fine, but if I restart my computer I get the
message: "Could not initialize AVG Anti-Virus kernel interface.
Application cannot run." Any ideas what the problem is?

TIA for your help!!!

Re: Help with AVG Free

Try Using Avast 4.7 Home Edition, It's Free, And It Works With 64 Bit
Windows XP SP2, And 64 Bit Windows Vista RTM, AVG Free Only Works With 32
Bit Windows XP SP2 and 32 Bit Windows Vista RTM, Just FYI.

You stupid or something?

He asked if anyone had any ideas what the problem was with AVG. You offer
NO advice, but tell him about another product and where it works. Totally
useless information. Just FYI.

He is using Vista. He doesn't care if it works with 32bit or 64bit. Just
FYI.
He is using Vista. He doesn't care if AVG works with Windows XP, Windows XP
SP2. Just FYI.
He doesn't care if it works with DOS. Just FYI.
He doesn't care if it works with Ubuntu. Just FYI.
He doesn't care if it works with Windows 2008 Server Beta. Just FYI.

Now I will tell him to uninstall the version of AVG that he is using.
Reboot computer. Reinstall again by right clicking on the setup and say
"Run as Administrator" and see if that solves the problem.

Just ignore the previous message by the IDIOT.

That wasn't his question. Just FYI. He wanted to know how to CORRECT a

Maybe you should have told him to wipe his computer clean and install
Windows 2008 Server, Just FYI.

administrator didn't work so I installed Avast. Seems to work just
fine.

Re: You stupid or something?

You'll Probably Like Avast 4.7 Home Edition A Whole Lot Better Than AVG Free
Edition, Because Avast 4.7 Home Edition Protects You Not Only From Viruses,
But It Also Protects You From Spyware As Well, Just FYI.
