Went to 64bit from 32bit on Vista and key not working...

Ok, I wanted to start using 64bit Vista Home Premium. I bought and have the
32bit version. I ordered a 64bit version from Microsoft's website. I
installed the 64bit version, using my same key. When I go to activate it, it
says it's already in use? I seriously hope they don't expect me to buy
another key just because I went to 64bit...any help would be appreciated.

Re: Went to 64bit from 32bit on Vista and key not working...

As has been stated many times on the newsgroup, you will have to use
telephone activation and hang on to talk to an operator and explain your
situation. Assuming you have uninstalled the 32-bit version you will be
able to get activated.

Not a headache at all. Simply use the telephone activation. You may have to
drill through until you get a live operator .. but once you do they should
activate your copy of Windows.

Yep, that worked just fine. Thanks for the input. And Vista has been a
headache...ever since beta, but it's fast and perdy! Thanks again.

You can then use Telephone Activation to contact the motel, Just FYI.

I Have Said This At Least A Couple Of Times Now, And I Will Say It Again: 64
Bit Windows XP Runs A Whole Lot Better On My Parent's Computer Than 32 Bit
Windows XP, Just FYI. The Microsoft Office 2003 Compatibility Problems
(Program Crashes When You Try To Save Some Excel Files With Macros In Them)
Occurs Only With Windows Vista RTM, And Does Not Occur With Windows XP, Just
FYI.

P.S. If Microsoft Wishes To Contact Me Regarding This Windows Vista
Microsoft Office 2003 Incompatibility Problem, They Can E-mail Me at
kevpan815athotmaildotcom, Until They Fix The Problem, My Parents Will Not Be
Using Their 64 Bit Upgrade Copy Of Windows Vista RTM Ultimate Edition, Which
I Purchased For Them, Just FYI.
